What do Coaches do?

Coaches help people set better goals and then reach those goals.  They do this by getting clients to focus better so as to produce better results.  Good coaches provide their clients with the tools, support and structure to accomplish more.

What is the difference between coaching and therapy?

Therapy is typically performed by a degreed and licensed professional who is required to work under a state approved Code of Ethics that exists to protect the public.  A therapist would very likely use coaching skills every day as part of the work they do in the therapy setting.  There are no similar requirements known to me regarding Coaching

Why should I use a Certified Coach?

Coaching is an unregulated business activity.  In the current economy many individuals call themselves “Coaches” while lacking in any professional training or certification to ensure that have mastered coaching skills and procedures.  Ensuring you have hired a Certified Coach is critical to not only the success of the coaching arrangement but your long term success as well.  Herrmann Advantage Consulting only uses certified professional coaches.

How do I choose a coach?

Working with a coach can be a significant investment, so finding the right person for you is critical to a successful outcome.  There are also many coaches available to choose from and you will want to take your time in researching your options.  Find out if the coach you are considering has background and expertise in the areas relevant to your needs.  All terms and conditions should be clearly laid out in a contract to avoid any misunderstandings on either side.  Any reputable coach should be happy to answer any of these questions for you.

How are meetings conducted?

My meetings are most often conducted either by telephone and sometimes in-person.  The key is that you receive the desired level of coaching that you are seeking from our relationship.

Coaching sessions are tailored to the needs of each individual.  Traditionally however, in our business and leader coaching, we focus on the following:

How does Coaching work?

Coaching is delivered traditionally in bi-weekly sessions.  Our clients bring an agenda to our sessions and we tailor a custom designed process to accomplish their goals and objectives.  We utilize both the clients know how and our technical skills to arrive at conclusions and outcomes that help make the client successful.  We do not do the work for the client.  Rather, we develop and bring out the clients abilities to maximize performance and outcomes.
